Der Schatten

He aquí mi ilustración para el relato de Miguel Rodríguez Robles del número 4 de LiF magazine.
Por si a alguno le interesa podéis ver aquí la revista, Der Schatten está en las páginas 42-43, y ya os aviso que no hace falta que os molestéis en buscar mi nombre por ningún lado porque debido a un pequeño error de logística se les olvidó incluirlo.

Como compensación me han dicho que harán una entrada en su blog con el relato y mi ilustración y espero que mis datos. Así que ya os avisaré cuando se publique la susodicha entrada. Mientras tanto siempre me quedará decir por aquí que ese dibujo es mío, solo mío, vale?

y en la página 70 os podeis encontrar con una ilustración de mi querida amiga Pafi, colaboradora habitual de la revista, que además en este número cuenta con un anuncio a página completa para ella solita :)

Here it is my illustration for Miguel Rodriguez Robles tale called Der Schatten, featured in the number 4 of LiF Magazine. If you are interested, you can have a look at it here, the tale is in the pages 42-43, and I must warn you that you needn't bother in looking for my name, because due to a small logistics mistake, they forgot to inlude it.

As compensation, they've told me they would post both the story and my pic, and hopefully my name and my blog adress too, in their blog. So I will let you know as soon as this post is published. Meanwhile i can always use my own blog to let everyone know that the painting featured in page 43 was made by me, and only me, ok?

And in page 70 you can also find the work of my beloved friend Pafi, a regular contributor for LiF magazine, who also happens to have a full page ad for herself! :)

Business Card

Ahora que ya tengo mi propia business card ya puedo decir oficialmente que soy una profesional! yeah!!!

Now that I have my own business card I can oficially say that I am a professional! yeah!!!

it's finally autumn!!!

yuhuuu!!! 

Sip, soy una de esas personas molestas a las que les encaaanta el otoño... por lo general no peco de ser demasiado buenrollista, pero en otoño siii! y mucho!!!

No voy a entrar en cursilerias del tipo: "adoro el olor a hojas secas mojadas..." no, tranquilos, seré buena y os ahorraré esa parte, sencillamente diré que el verano me cansa y se me hace laaargo... y me paso el mes de septiembre (porque si, aunque los buenrollistas veraniegos no queráis admitirlo... septiembre aún es verano) ansiando que llegue la lluvia y el frío, aaaais! lo único que no me gusta del otoño es que en Madrid nunca hace demasiado frío ni llueve lo suficiente... y muchos años mi querido otoño acaba convirtiéndose en una insufrible prolongación del verano pero sin vacaciones, pero no! este otoño ha empezado lloviendo!!! y no puedo estar más contenta!!! solo espero que siga así y que este anticiclón que nos ha visitado esta semana se vaya pronto... :P

Así que nada majos, feliz otoño a todos!!!

Yep, i'm one of those annoying autumn freaks... i'm not usually an extremely enthusiastic kind of person, but when autumn arrives... i totally am!!! annoyingly enthusiasctic!!!

I am not going to get into cheesy stuff such as "the lovely smell of wet autumn leaves" nop, don't worry, i'll be a good girl an spare you all the suffering, I'll just say that summer is tooo long and I get fed up of it, so I spen the whole month of september (because, even though all those summer enthusiastic freaks won't admit it, september is still summer) longing for rain and cold weather, aisss! The only thing i don't like about autumn is that here in Madrid it's never too cold and it doesn't rain enough... and usually my beloved autumn ends up becoming an unbearable extension of the summer but with no holidays! but not this year!!! This autumn began with rain!!! I can't be happier!!! I just wish it'd continue that way and that the anticyclone that we've had this week will leave us soon... :P

So have a very happy autumn you all!!

Ahora mismo estoy trabajando en un dibujín de temática otoñal, uno de esos dibujos que inesperadamente acaban necesitando un montón de papeles diferentes que después tendrán que acoplarse de algún modo...  no importa el curro que sea, mola eso de tener algo grande entre manos! :)

Right now i'm working on an autumn themed piece, one of those pieces that unexpectedly requires lots of different papers which will need to be pasted together somehow afterwards... nevermind the hardwork! it feels good to have something bigger in my hands! :)

Hey! aqui os presento a este par de murcielaguillos amorosos. 

Lo hice para el concurso de threadless loves bats, pero ayer resultó ser uno de esos días en los que por algún extraño motivo yo e illustrator no conseguimos entendernos... hice y deshice a los pobre bichos alados por lo menos 4 veces... finalemente conseguí dar con algo que funcionaba y por cabezonería no me fui a dormir hasta que no lo terminé, pero lo terminé! 

Desafortunadamente, hice mis cálculos de cambio de hora mal, y resultó que el plazo para subir las imagenes a threadless acabó una hora antes de lo que yo pensaba... y me pilló en medio proceso de subir a mis bichejos... aissss malditas thumbnails y sus extraños tamaños!

Pero no pasa nada, me siento orgullosa de haberme quedado hasta las mil terminando un dibujo por puro amor propio!

Hey! here you are a lovely couple of little bats!
It was suppossed to be for the threadless loves bats contest... buuut yesterday turned out to be one of those days in which my illustrator and i don't seem to understand each other... i did and undid the poor winged fellas at least 4 times... finally i came up with something that worked and dew to my stuborness i didn't go to sleep 'till i finnished it, but i finnished it!
Unfortunately, i miscalculated the time equivalence... and the submissions closed 1 hour earlier than i expected... and i was caught in the process of uploading my bats... aisss damned thumbnails and their weird sizes!
But it's no big deal, i feel proud of myself for staying 'till late finnishing this piece for self-respect!

Una raramente productiva tarde de domingo viendo Decisión Crítica, (ni caso a la puntuación de filmaffinity, una peli con steven seagal y kurt russel juntos jamás ha de estar puntuada por debajo del 6) peliculón donde los haya con un reparto excelsamente exquisito.
Desgraciadamente no fui lo bastante rápida al ir a coger el bloc de dibujo y me quedé sin dibujar a Steven Seagal :(

An unusually productive sunday afternoon watching Executive Decision, (don't bother paying attention to filmaffinity's rating, a film with Steven Seagal and Kurt Russel on it can never be rated  bellow 6) quite a great movie with an astonishing exquisite cast. 
Unfortunately i wasn't quick enough in picking my sketch book and i didn't make it on time to draw  Steven Seagal :(

it's me again

Como yo no soy tan pálida (de hecho no soy pálida en absoluto) me pareció conveniente darle una ligera capa de color a la piel, y queda un poco más mejor y más yo.
Y de paso reajusté el tamaño para que tenga proporciones cuadradas, así tengo nuevo avatar para FB :)

As I am not so pale (in fact, I am not pale at all) I thought it might be convenient to add a layer of grey to the skin, this way it looks a little bit better and more like me.
I also readjusted the sizes so it can have squared proportions, this way I can have a new FB avatar :)

Ya iba siendo hora de actualizar mi imagen residual de mí misma, que hace más de un año que me quité el flequillazo y parecía que aun no lo había asimilado.


It was about time that I updated the image i have of myself, i got ride of my emo-fringe more than a year ago and it seemed that i haven't got over it yet!

Ahora mismo me acaban de comunicar que ha sido seleccionado mi diseño para el próximo número de Three Five Fifty y aunque todavía la web no está actualizada, no he podido contenerme las ganas de contarlo!yeah! ^^

I've just been informed that my design has been chosen for the next edition of Three Five Fifty and even though their web hasn't been updated yet with the winners, i couldn't wait to let you all know! i'm so happy!!! ^^

microclima en mi habitación

Por fin he conseguido terminar de pintar mi habitación! :)

El diseño para las paredes lo hice el verano pasado... pero por unas cosas o por otras parece que nunca es buen momento para empatanar la habitacion y expatriarte a algún otro cuarto libre de la casa... y al final no me puse manos a la obra hasta hace poquito.
Y claro, también pasa que estas cosas siempre tardan más de lo que esperabas... se te acaba la cinta de pintor en mitad del proceso... no encuentras la cinta para hacer curvas en ninguna tiendas... y demás imprevistos.
Pero por fin, para gran alegría de mi santa madre, he terminado de pintar mi habitación y regreso de mi exilio en la habitación de invitados.

A los que vieron mi diseño de la tabla de snow para opiate, les sonará el diseño.

garabatos varios origins

Otra tanda de garabatillos hechos siguiendo el mismo método que expliqué en la anterior entrada, realmente estos los hice antes que los anteriores, de ahí lo de origins, es la precuela :P

garabatos varios

Hay un juego al que yo jugaba de pequeña (realmente solo recuerdo haber jugado una vez) y consistía en que una mano inocente hacía unas líneas, formas, garabatillos al azar y a partir de ahí había que hacer un dibujo con las formillas que te hubiesen tocado y luego pues ganaba el que mejores dibujos tenía. La verdad es que creo recordar que no se me daba especialmente bien... pero bueno, también me regañaban en el colegio por salirme de la línea al colorear y aquí estoy ;)

Y esto que teneis aquí es el fruto de una de esas rondas garabatísticas (he dejado al margen algún desafortunado garabato por que habría supuesto una derrota clara) la verdad es que parece una chorrada, pero a veces salen cosas chulas, y para soltar la mano y la mente un poco está muy bien.

There's a game I used to play when I was young...er (I think i only played it once, but...) This is how it worked: One person, who will also act as the jury, draws some shapes and lines, and then you have to try to draw something from those doodles. obviously, the winner is the one who manages to make better drawings.  I think I wasn't really good at this game, but I also used to be scolded for going over the lines while I was colouring... but hey!!! here I am!

So this picture here is the result of one of those doodling sessions, it seems like a very silly thing to do, but sometimes you get amazing drawings. It's also useful for warming up before start drawing.
